Hello, and welcome to my site!
My name is Emi, I mainly focus on portraiture, but I also love to do wildlife photography, and especially bird photography in my free time. I studied Linguistics at university, but found my true passion in the arts.
Throughout my entire life, my interest in most things come and went, I would find myself obsessed one day and disinterested the next, but not photography. While there are many things that go into making a photograph it is the unique way this medium allows me to express myself which keeps me coming back, “art is a universal language” as the saying goes.
As a neurodivergent person often the way I look at and interact with the world differs from that of most people. Photography, however, is something I have found is able to help bridge that gap, between the way I see things and how others do. For me the world is a series of small sections, each one a tree in a whole forest, and in that same way the confines of a photographic frame direct others to see something specific, to notice a particular tree in the forest which they otherwise would have simply breezed past. To me that is the beauty of the medium, and why I create.
