How far in advance should I book my session?
At least a week is best so we can get everything ready.
What is your turnaround time for the final gallery?
A final gallery should be done within around a week.
Do you require a deposit to secure the date?
I do not require a deposit for a date.
What happens if it rains or there is bad weather on the day of the shoot?
If the weather is not favorable I am happy to work with you to find another time that works.
Can I book a group session with my friends?
You can book a group session but there is an extra fee of $100 per additional person.
Are we allowed to use props like champagne or confetti?
Props are super fun and definitely welcome as long as they do not pose a risk to me or my equipment.
Do you have recommended spots around campus for grad photos?
I know all of the best spots in IV and on campus!
How many outfit changes are allowed during a session?
For a standard portrait session I allow for one outfit change without an additional fee. For grad photos you can switch between your stole, cap, and robe.
What should I wear for my headshot or portrait session?
You are free to wear whatever you would like, though I would recommend something you feel is dressy or generally fits the feeling you want your photos to have. Please also try not to wear something that is extremely wrinkled as this will show in photos and is not fun to edit.
Can we shoot at multiple locations across the Santa Barbara, Goleta, or Isla Vista area?
We can shoot multiple locations, but as we are limited by time the travel would cut significantly into our shooting time.
Do you provide retouching or blemish removal?
I am happy to retouch or remove blemishes from up to 3 images which you select from the proofs provided at no additional charge. For more than 3 I charge a rate of $10 per image.
Do I get to choose the final images, or do you select them?
If you would like to select your own photos I am happy to provide proofs (low resolution watermarked copies) of your photos which you can select from.
How will I receive my photos?
You will receive a link to an online file hosting service where you can view or download your images. Please download these and save them as I only guarantee storage for 6 months after delivery.
Do I have the rights to print the images?
You are free to print your images as much as you would like and use them for any non-commercial purposes.
Can I order physical prints directly through you?
You are welcome to order prints through me. I charge the price quoted by the local print shop, plus 20% for handling the logistics. I am also happy to frame your prints if you order them from me, again for the same rate (cost plus 20%).
What locations do you serve for photography sessions?
I am happy to work anywhere in the greater Santa Barbara Area, especially Goleta, Santa Barbara, and Isla Vista.
Do you offer outdoor professional headshots in the Santa Barbara area?
I am happy to do outdoor or studio style headshots anywhere in the greater Santa Barbara area.
What is the best time of day for graduation photos in Isla Vista?
For graduation photos, I usually recommend we meet around 5:30pm, as this gives us about two hours until sundown, as well as nice golden hour light to work with.
How much does a portrait photographer cost in Santa Barbara?
My rates are listed on the "rates" page of my site, but on average a session with me will be anywhere from $150 to $400.
